ABSTRACT
My father was a librarian. That had a big influence. Like lots of people, I couldn’t imagine surviving without books. Because I like the feel of books and the smell of books, I haven’t wholeheartedly embraced the e-book phenomenon. As a result I have to smuggle books into our house and add them discreetly to our groaning bookcases. Yes: I like books.
