ABSTRACT

Dissemination means to scatter in all directions, like the blowing seeds of a dandelion catching winds aloft to share new blossoms in distant lawns. The sharing of information resulting from an inquiry is critical to the end product. Why investigate something if not to share with others, when new discoveries can be utilized or improved upon for the benefit of the students and families whom professionals serve? If a practitioner-researcher has found a strategy or method that “works,” do they not have a responsibility to inform others? Their insights could lead to important improvements in education for students with disability labels, an historically underserved population. Practitioner-researchers who enthusiastically share their findings with others can make effective practice bloom in other contexts and classrooms. Near the end of the Accessible Research Cycle practitioner-researchers are at the stage to consider how best to share their results and insights with families and other professionals, with an eye toward further development of their research and potential publication.
