ABSTRACT

By about 400,000-500,000 years ago Homo erectus had evolved into our more advanced ancestors, the Homo sapiens. With larger skulls, more brain capacity and greater curiosity, Homo sapiens traveled much greater distances than their predecessors. The travel of this species was largely confined to moving from place to place in search of food, shelter, and safety from wild beasts and hostile tribes. Certainly, in relation to this early travel there is no way of knowing how decisions related to travel developed and progressed.
