ABSTRACT

Corps must not get involved in tank battles with enemy tanks, if there is not a clear superiority over the enemy. In case of a meeting with large enemy tank units, the corps conducts antitank artillery fire against the enemy tanks and pulls out part of its tanks and infantry with antitank artillery and the corps, protecting itself with these assets, moves around the main enemy tank force and attacks the enemy infantry with the objective of separating it from the enemy tanks and paralyzing enemy tank

operations. The main mission of the tank corps - destroy enemy infantry. 12. In front or army defensive operations the tank corps is not assigned an independent defensive sector, but is used as a strong means of counterattacking from the depth and deployed on army boundaries, outside the range of enemy artillery fire (20-25 kilometers). 13. Terrain has a decisive significance for the choice of direction of tank corps operations. The full use of the striking power of the corps and its movement potential depends on ground suitability for tanks, therefore, terrain reconnaissance for the impending corps operations must be organized by all commanders of the front, army and below. 14. In all aspects, the most decisive element of combat by the tank corps is surprise. Surprise is achieved by deception, secrecy of positions and movement, by using nighttime for marches and concealing concentrations from the air.
