When a motorized march column is assigned tanks, the time given for a tank (troop) day's march applies. 194. The great length of the march columns of tank and mechanized (motorized rifle) formations and the great danger from enemy air and mobile forces necessitates a reliable air and tank defense. These are obtained: - through loosening the march order in width and through eche-
loning in depth (by battalion); - through tactical autonomy of the march column (stagger); - through constant readiness to defend against enemy aircraft
and mobile troops with all weapons, as long as this does not interfere with the accomplishment of the main mission.
