ABSTRACT
The type of speech you use to practise interpreting can make, or break, your interpreting practice. Interpreters don't (barring rare exceptions) interpret newspaper articles or PhD theses, nor music lyrics or poetry; they interpret spoken discourse in certain very specific contexts. You should seek to use the same types of speeches and recreate the same types of situations.
