ABSTRACT
We have already shown how power in an a.c. circuit is dissipated only in resistors and not in purely reactive components such as inductors or capacitors. This merits further consideration and we need to be aware of the implications, particularly in applications where appreciable amounts of power may be present and where loads exhibit a significant amount of reactance.
