ABSTRACT
The savings services offered to consumers by banks need to be considered in two different ways:
first, as homes for consumers' savings, in competition with other financial institutions which seek to attract deposits;
secondly, in relation to bank current accounts, since, as we have seen, the distinction between a savings account and a current account is becoming increasingly blurred by the offer of accounts which both pay interest and give payment facilities.
