ABSTRACT

Having now discussed the psychology of manic states at some length, it may be well in closing to view the question from a somewhat different angle. In so far as our work has been a matter of observation and correlation of observations, and not merely speculation, in just that degree have we been engaged in studying the symptomatology of manic-depressive insanity. One would expect that the more that was known about the symptoms and therefore of the disease process, the more secure would be the position of psychiatrists in predicting the outcome. In this respect we feel that some advance may be claimed, or, at least, indicated.
