ABSTRACT

Kenneth E. Sharpe is Professor of Political Science at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania. He has conducted extensive field work in Central America, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. He is the author of Peasant Politics: Struggle in a Dominican Village (John Hopkins UP, 1976) and co-editor with Morris Blachman and William LeoGrande, of Confronting Revolution: Security Through Diplomacy in Central America (Pantheon, 1986).
