ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we outline the systematic approach to successfully implement a mobile technology at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The developed mobile implementation framework provides scalable solutions to plan, test, and implement a mobile technology on a campus, considering the student and instructor perspective, impact on infrastructure, and technical support across the university. Following a brief background of mobile initiatives in higher education, we discuss the mobile implementation framework, share lessons learned during each phase, and discuss the results of our pilot study. Finally, we summarize our findings and call for future research on this mobile implementation framework at the institutional level.
