ABSTRACT
Although foundation degrees have been in existence since 2001 many people are unclear what they are. This section aims to expand your knowledge. Foundation degrees are unique in that they integrate academic and work-based learning to provide an employment-related higher education (HE) qualification. They are validated by universities to ensure that they meet high academic standards but are designed and delivered in partnership with employers, to equip people with the relevant knowledge and skills for work.
