ABSTRACT
The replacement of consistent social contact with friends and coworkers via technology will create a much greater need for interpersonal communication on a person-to-person basis. Groups will provide an antidote to human isolation and more and more counselors and other human development specialists will be called upon to serve as group facilitators. The beginning counseling and human development specialist will experience an explosion of opportunities and escalating concomitant responsibilities as a group work specialist.
