ABSTRACT
Duncan Stanton ( 1988 ) stated, “Non-family therapists often view family therapy as (a) a modality, that (b) usually involves the nuclear family” (p. 8). He goes on to point out the inaccuracy of this conception, explaining that family therapy is based on a point of view that emphasizes the contextual nature of psychological problems.
