Britain, Mesopotamia and the Middle East, 1918

There is or was a Middle East Committee of the Cabinet of which I am or was Chairman and of which Sykes is or was secretary. We used to have frequent meetings and all the earlier Mesopotamian and Hejaz policy was formulated by us.
