ABSTRACT
Dave Moorcroft was born in Coventry in 1953. At school he showed much more enthusiasm for sport than for academic work and left after failing all his ‘O’ levels. He chose to continue his education at Tile Hill College, however, rather than to take an industrial apprenticeship and succeeded in passing both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels and entered Loughborough College in 1972, eventually graduating as a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Physical Education.
