ABSTRACT

Stuart Lancaster was born in 1969 in Penrith, Cumbria. He was educated at St. Bees School and Carnegie College, Leeds, being awarded a bachelor's degree in sports science in 1991 and a post-graduate certificate of education in 1992. He held full-time teaching posts from 1992 to 1998 before taking a substantial leave to become a full-time player and development officer for the Leeds ‘Tykes’ Rugby Union team, who shared a stadium and administrative structure with Leeds ‘Rhinos’ Rugby League Club in a unique arrangement.
