ABSTRACT

Development and refinement of sports training methods is the only valid possibility to improve sport results. Effective sports training calls for correct organization and science-based control. It is pointless to analyse training programmes of elite athletes and introduce their ‘secrets’ into training plans developed for other athletes. It is very difficult to control sports training, because a coach has no possibility to exert direct influence on sport performance, except for providing a training programme and requiring its strict execution, in particular adjustment of movement technique (Zatsiorsky, 1998).
