ABSTRACT

Every pupil in your class is unique. A class of same-age pupils is likely to contain individuals at different stages of development owing to the combined differences in physical development, cognitive development and background. Significant differences arise in the achievements of members of a class of pupils, including pupils in a class where setting is practised. The cultural, religious and economic backgrounds of your pupils can affect their response to schooling. Some pupils respond to academic challenge while others see no point in such demands. Others are gifted and need special attention, as do many pupils with learning or behavioural difficulties. Some pupils are at ease with adults while others find the experience less comfortable.
