ABSTRACT

Does the idea of employing infantrywomen pose an ethical dilemma? What follows here is an attempt to find out. Evidence from World War II and after, shows an ethical and practical fluctuation in the whole area of female military employment. In this chapter an attempt is made to try and discover why such fluctuation occurred, and why the idea of a military life for women, whether or not in infantry units, has persisted in our culture.
