ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter on leadership the main message was that leaders should have a clear sense of direction and purpose, which they communicate effectively throughout the organization. This involves the development of the vision, values and mission which are clearly aspects of policy and strategy. Included in the EFQM Excellence Model, the criterion policy and strategy is concerned with:
How the organization implements its mission and vision via a clear stakeholderfocused strategy, supported by relevant policies, plans, objectives, targets and processes.
