ABSTRACT
The word ‘laws’ in this case refers to the ‘law of nature’ or the physical ‘laws’ and not to man-made civil or criminal legislation. You already know that the volume of a gas is affected by changes
in pressure and changes in temperature and that it is necessary to use standard reference conditions (src) before one volume can be compared with another. So we must look in more detail at the physical laws which link volume, pressure and temperature before going on to deal with the actual measurement of volume.
