Overall, CD-ROM and the Web offer new possibilities for providing access to teaching materials. However, a key issue is the accessibility of these resources to disabled people who cannot use conventional computers. It is no advantage, for example, when a book is made available electronically on the Web if the interface to it is not compatible with enabling technologies. This issue is addressed in a later section when accessibility of the Web is considered.
