ABSTRACT

People are the most important resource for any company, global or otherwise. Global organizations need highly qualified people who are well-trained and well-supported in their global activities. According to most global executives, however, one of the most difficult tasks of the globalization process is the recruitment, selection, development, and retention of qualified global people. In this chapter we will explore six dimensions of the human resource process and how global companies can best perform these functions (see Figure 5-1).
