ABSTRACT
The first articles on ‘Brazil Builds’ in the architectural press had been decisive in establishing the reputation of the Brazilian Modern architecture in international architectural circles; they repeated the sense of surprise and discovery with which those buildings had been viewed by Goodwin during his trip. The book Brazil Builds, which reached a wider audience, was reviewed in the same tone; it inaugurated a period in which Brazilian architecture played a significant part in the international architectural scene.
