The concept of knowledge in event management

This chapter discusses knowledge and the concept of a “ knowledge transfer race ”

(English and Baker, 2006) along with its application to event managers. To gain

an understanding of knowledge needed for this race, common and advancement

knowledge are discussed. Then, a unique definition of knowledge specifically

designed for the field of event management is presented along with a strategy for

assimilating event knowledge.
