ABSTRACT

If the event is one that is repeated on a regular basis such as an annual awards show, banquet, or festival, then a meeting with the entire event team (other than the production team) under the direction of the client or event manager is often a necessary adjunct to the event. This usually involves a debriefing assembly in which each member at the management level, including the producer, completes a debrief of what was successful, what was unsuccessful, what could be eliminated, what could be added, and what could be improved. Budget shortfalls and problems are also addressed. Followup actions with target dates and persons responsible are usually created and monitored for completion. It is essential that the production team under the direction of the producer meets and resolves its own issues before the entire event team meets.
