Paint A viscous liquid that is applied to built surfaces to enhance the appearance of such surfaces. If constructed surface areas were to be left in their original state, they would not be very appealing unless designed for that purpose alone. Decoration in the form of pigmented coatings is applied for a number of reasons:
to enable general maintenance
to preserve
to make visually acceptable
to identify
to give colour.
