ABSTRACT
Voltimum is an electrical contractor’s portal launched by some of the major players in the electrical industry – Philips, Pirelli, Osram, Schnieder Electric, Nexans ABB and Legrand. The main feature of Voltimum is the ability for electrical contractors to log on and find out real-time information about electrical products for the design, specification and estimation of electrical projects. The site also contains up-to-date legislation and industry news. Sprite Interactive was commissioned to develop a mobile window to the site. This took the form of a Java application, enabling us to serve up product data to the user’s handset in real time. As well as the WAP site, Voltimum wanted to extend their mobile offering with an MMS scanning service.
