ABSTRACT
I attended a convention not long ago at which the moderator introduced almost every speaker with the same trite line: "The next speaker is Dr. Smith." That constituted the entire introduction. No first names. No titles. No topics. Many members of the organization were embarrassed because among the speakers were several of national prominence.
