ABSTRACT
Introduction The Ohbayashi Corporation is one of the big five Japanese General Contractors. The new building sits on a research campus of scattered buildings and test sheds, 20 kilometres from Tokyo. It was claimed at the time that it was the ‘most energy-efficient building in the world’, boasting as many as 98 energyconserving technologies.
