ABSTRACT

The ability of a capacitor to store charge is one of its most important properties.

The rate of flow of charge depends on the voltage across the capacitor.

Things to do

Set up the circuit shown in the diagram, using a breadboard. The wire from the positive terminal of the electrolytic capacitor is a flying lead. It is a piece of wire about 10 cm long. One end is plugged into the same row of contacts as the positive wire of the capacitor. The other can be plugged into the board to connect either to (A) the positive supply or (B) the lamp.
