ABSTRACT
Background The European air-travel market has opened up because of the deregulation of the industry and this has brought about the establishment of a whole variety of cut-price airlines which will offer airline seats at increasingly competitive prices. There is already evidence in Europe that air ticket prices are beginning to decrease with the increased competitive nature of the market, although there is still a long way to go before the fiercely discounted market as exists in the USA is achieved.
