ABSTRACT

This herb is the rhizome of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz. of the family Compositae. It is grown mainly in the Zhejiang province of China but is also cultivated in the provinces of Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Anhui, and Jiangxi. The rhizome is collected in the winter, sliced, dried in the sun, and used unprocessed or stir baked with wheat bran, which gives it a brown color (Jiang Su New Medical College, 1977). https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9780203050040/86743b54-459f-4502-a9f1-33f21b13726a/content/figpg118_001_B.jpg" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
