ABSTRACT
For a beginning MFL teacher there are a bewildering number of issues to learn to cope with in school: the intricacies of school organization; learning pupils’ names; remembering one's timetable; locating books and materials, to name but a few. Taking the language learning experience outside the classroom, therefore, may not appear to be a major priority when there does not seem time to get out of the classroom oneself.
