ABSTRACT

In Poland, presentation matters. Magazine glossies for even moderately priced restaurants make full use of four-color printing possibilities with photographs of restaurant settings in picture-frame layouts. Typically, these pictures show dining rooms with starkly white lace cloths on tables laid out with gorgeously hued fresh flowers, fine china, and elegantly presented entrees. Dark wood paneling, glowing sconces, and green plants seem to be commonplace, and it all looks, well, carefully planned.
