ABSTRACT

Page turners 1 These are reading aid s (qv) for persons suffering from paralysis (qv) or impaired dexterity (qv). There are two types: ● Manual page turners are simple and cheap but may not suit severely disabled people. For examples see the catalogues of Sunrise and other suppliers of Products for easier living (qv). ● Electric page turners may be the only solution for people who are unable to manipulate reading materials. Examples include the ‘ Readable ’ page turner from Quality Enabling Devices, and the ‘ Gewa ’ page turner from Possum, both of which enable people to read a book regardless of their position – for instance, lying in bed. 2 As of 2008, useful websites include the following. They are given in alphabetical order. ● Disabled Living Foundation www.dlf.org.uk/ ● Possum www.possum.co.uk/ ● QED www.qedonline.co.uk/
