A product starts out as an idea which is then made real by following a set of product realization processes.
Remember that ‘product’ in the ISO 9000 context means services, software, hardware or processed materials. Because of the huge variety of possible products and methods of realizing them the ISO allows organizations to ignore or exclude any requirement in Section 7 if they cannot apply it because of the nature of the organization or the nature of the product.
