ABSTRACT

So why is business – commonsense so absent in many aspects of Internet marketing? My own opinion is that the key issues are a balance between managers (a) being scared of computers, and (b) not realising the importance of the Internet in contemporary business. In this chapter – as its title suggests – you will be introduced to the key elements in getting started in the online environment. If it is not the case already, by the end of it you will know that the Internet is not scary and that it is important in contemporary marketing. You will also know that it is not the exclusive domain of the folks from the IT department.
