ABSTRACT
To appreciate the scope, diversity, and opportunities within the Asian or Pacific Rim region, this chapter begins with an overview of Pacific Basin countries, plus demographics on six Central Asian nations of growing economic importance. Then, we examine in some depth, a dozen cultures and business climates of the principal Asia “players” within the global marketplace, especially China, India, and Japan. China, India, and Indonesia have 40% of the earth’s inhabitants.
