ABSTRACT

In this book we have explored aspects of the information society to introduce and explain the nature of social science research. We have discussed some important social transformations that are underway, and have introduced some core issues, principles and practices of social research. The social changes we have discussed are commonly explained by all manner of politicians, policy makers, journalists and other commentators. We have argued that social science is distinguished from other arguments and explanations in that it is rooted in a set of principles and practices.
