ABSTRACT

Since the first publication of Problem Solving and Comprehension over 30 years ago, a great deal has changed in education and in our understanding of mental processes. This chapter reviews connections between Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) and the objectives described in some of the educational frameworks and standards documents that have inspired changes in U.S. education. Specifically, we show which framework objectives TAPPS will help you to meet and which parts of the major assessments can be prepared for with the Seventh Edition of Problem Solving and Comprehension.
