ABSTRACT
Instructional design is a field of application that is supported theoretically by a variety of disciplines and related fields. This can be seen by Thorndike's (1913) early attempt to apply the behavioral learning principles of the laws of effect and exercise to classroom instruction. Skinner continued and expanded this practice of applying psychological principles to classroom instruction by introducing educational technology to methods of teaching (1958, 1968, 1990).
