ABSTRACT

This chapter provides brief descriptions of the careers of the important contributors to job analysis in the 20th and early 21st centuries. In the first section, the careers of 24 contributors to job analysis research and practice are briefly described. Although more could be (and has been) written about many of these individuals and their contributions, we chose a single-paragraph approach to make the chapter more approachable. These brief career descriptions are followed by three vignettes that are meant to bring to life the contributions of important contributors to the field of job analysis. Additional narrative histories of job analysis are available for interested readers (Cunningham, 2000; Mitchell, 1988; Mitchell & Driskill, 1996; Primoff & Fine, 1988; Uhrbrock, 1922; Wilson, 2006).
