ABSTRACT

Employers make important decisions about job candidates or current employees every day. Who will be hired? Who will get a promotion and/or a pay raise? Who will be o ered professional development opportunities? In an increasingly diverse U.S. workforce, and in light of increasing protections for workers from historically underutilized or oppressed societal groups, the past several decades have seen expanded attention given to the achievement of an ideal state of equal employment opportunity (EEO) for all. EEO is achieved when practices, procedures, and/or tests (PPTs) that are used for making personnel decisions o er everyone who is quali ed a chance to succeed. A thorough analysis of work provides crucial data for ensuring that EEO objectives are being met.
