ABSTRACT
Hotels and motels occupy space for the purpose of providing mainly lodging and other services for individuals and groups traveling for business or pleasure. The lodging industry is different from most other businesses serving the public. Most businesses are concerned with attracting, building, sustaining and servicing a local customer base. Hotels and motels are different in the sense they are dependent upon attracting passing strangers each and every day (Jakle et al., 1996).
