ABSTRACT

The previous chapter described how you might research changes in your teaching or your understanding of it. This chapter looks at the bigger picture of how research methodologies can help you as a teacher-researcher to formalise your actions, reflections and evaluations. As well as a classroom friendly research approach, you may also be looking for a methodology that can lead to postgraduate level accreditation and could have the potential to influence policy decision making. An overall approach to research is called a methodology or a paradigm, as I will now explain.
