ABSTRACT
The papers of both the Open Door Council and Open Door International were deposited in the Women’s Library, now part of London Metropolitan University, in 1976. A list is available (NRA 29383). The ODI records had previously been in the care of the incumbent Hon. Secretary and consequently were transferred from country to country; the surviving material is partly in French and German, as well as English. It comprises the minutes of Board meetings, 1947-59 and 1968-73; reports and conference resolutions, 1929-38 and 1946-66; papers of the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th conferences; copies of the constitution and charters; correspondence files, 1947-60 and 1966-74; circular letters, 1949-59; collected printed leaflets and public statements of ODI, mainly addressed to various agencies of the United Nations, and publications of other official and governmental organisations. The Open Door Council material itself consists of an intermittent series of annual reports, 1926-65; papers and agendas of the annual meetings, 1954-63; and resolutions, 1951-53.
