ABSTRACT

This chapter is concerned with assessing the extent and character of the flow of vehicular traffic which directly affects the economy of the City. It is divided into four sections. First, we discuss the movement of all kinds of traffic within the City. Second, we analyse the composition of commuting traffic into, and out of, the City. Third, we discuss the generation of commercial traffic using City roads. And fourth, we look into the future prospects of traffic and road use in the City in relation to its likely economic development.
