ABSTRACT
As an introduction to the world of genre-based literacy teaching, this book has so far provided a detailed account of both the technicalities and the philosophy of genre theory. It is now time to integrate this into an historical and bibliographical setting, sketching how genre theory and the genre school developed and siting the bibliographical references in terms of this evolution.
